Burn ICU RN travel nurse job in Wichita, Kansas. This 13-week hospital travel nurse contract offers a consistent day shift schedule working 36 hours per week in a high-acuity Burn ICU environment at a respected regional hospital.

About This Position
In this Burn ICU travel nursing assignment, the RN will provide specialized care for patients experiencing severe burns and related complications. The Burn ICU environment requires strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and the ability to respond quickly to complex patient needs.
Nurses will collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary care teams to support recovery and stabilization for critically injured patients while delivering compassionate, high-quality care.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include monitoring hemodynamics, managing complex wound care, administering medications, assisting with procedures, documenting patient progress, and ensuring high standards of infection control and patient safety. Burn ICU travel nurses also play a key role in patient advocacy, education, and coordination of care within the critical care team.
Requirements
Qualified candidates should have an active RN license, strong ICU or critical care experience, and the ability to adapt quickly to new hospital systems and workflows. Previous burn unit or trauma ICU experience is highly valuable, along with certifications such as BLS and ACLS.
